Well, Last Thursday (Oct 18th) I attended the NOLUG meeting and learned about basic telephony stuffs. For the most part, I was glad I came. Some of the distros mentioned around there got me on the hunt for livecd’s to try. So far, the winner in the desktop livecd is PCLinuxOS, which, by far, was the best in quality and speed imo. Second was Puppy, because of its portability and non-suckage compared to DSL. (This article is posted on a puppylinux installation on a flashdrive). The third, was the Slax livecd. Although it only really had a good enough interface for recovery, you could also start flux and a few other WM’s. Last comes Ubuntu 7.10. Which, lol, Failed to start at all. Id consider putting PCLinuxOS on one of my flashdrives, however, KDE would rape the chips. Puppy’s lightweight design makes it nicely suited for portable media :p
